I don't have a Hauppauge PVR but I do have a Hauppauge 1950 which is also a USB based device that can do HD video, and has a integrated IR Blaster. I have SageTV working with the device on Ubuntu, using the pvrusb2 driver. Getting the IR Blaster to work however has been very trouble some, and I was wondering if the same or similar code that you used to get the HD PVR IR Blaster to work would work with the 1950. Your guidance would be greatly appreated. Thanks

Hi,

Just decided to stop in and check your blog after you posted a reply trying to help me out with a problem with my 1600 card on the Sage forums.

Looking forward to reading more on your TV topics since i am also a TV Aholic and trying to switch to Sage completely and always looking for advise from the veterans.

Thanks

I would completely recommend CommandIR-II. My experience has been great, no issues encountered. Interestingly I received an email from them on my post: http://tvwhere.wordpress.com/2008/08/22/commandir-ii-takes-the-cake/ Thanking me for my words and if I needed anything they were there.

Sometimes paying a little bit more for a higher quality and better service is worth it.

Good luck!

I too had kind of a crummy experience with Iguana. I had my serial adapter working just fine with mythtv .21, but when I added a new frontend and transferred the receiver to that machine I ran into problems. I e-mailed their support, and once again got no response.. I'm currently looking for other solutions, that are reasonably priced.

Thanks for stopping by Brent. Your comments also echo what I am seeing in the IRC channel for the driver development. Hopefully today!
